Seafra sailed a supurb event with a total of six first places in ten races. Seafra was followed by Cian Byrne who sailed an excellent final race to secure second place while John Durcan was fourth, a great result for his first nationals. RCYC dominance of this class was added to by the fine performance of our two lady sailors – Amy Harrington who was the second leading lady in 4.7 and 9th overall and Vikki Cudmore who was third lady and 14th overall. Other RCYC sailors included Arran Walsh at 42nd. In the Radial class, David Whitaker finished 32nd and Dermot Lyden 46th out of 71 contestants in a very competitive fleet.
Our sole competitor in the Standard Rig, Nick Walsh was 10th overall and 1st in the Masters.
Overall the results for RCYC highlights the fantastic progress we are making in the Laser class and with some of our junior sailors now looking to move to the Radial class the future bodes well.
