Good News continues from Skandia Sail for Gold Week at Weymouth

Conditions at Weymouth were fresh today and getting fresher as the day wore on.  The Star Class were due to have three races but were sent ashore after they had completed two.  They were waiting for a wind drop but as it didn’t show any sign of abating, racing finished for the Star Class for the day.

Races 4 and 5 of the series took place with Peter O’Leary and crew David Burrows finishing 7th in race 4 and 4th in race 5.  The discard came into play after race 5 and this pushed them up to 4th place overall on 24 points.  In this high calibre fleet this is an excellent position to hold but there is a long way to go yet and with the changeable weather who knows what may happen.

In the Laser Radial 91 boat fleet Annalise Murphy of the National Yacht Club is in first place overall leading the huge fleet and here again with a long way to go we will be left holding our breath for the next few days.

Racing continues tomorrow (Thurs).
