The RCYC now has a delightful play facility for the younger members of families whose siblings may be sailing or racing and the children are free to enjoy themselves in safe surroundings. The play area is for children up to eight years of age and came about as a result of representations from parents who had older siblings out sailing their Optimists or Toppers. It allows the parents to sit and relax and maybe enjoy a cappuccino from the bar and yet to be able to keep an eye on happenings while the younger children enjoy themselves. Also now available from the bar is a mouth watering selection of ice cream for young and old to enjoy. (Pity I didn’t know that myself over the weekend!!)
