Irish Formula 18 Catamaran Association Training Weekend

The Irish Formula 18 Catamaran Association held their last event of the year in RCYC at the weekend. The appalling conditions kept the fleet ashore both Saturday and Sunday but the weather gods did have some mercy on them and confined the rain to a few heavy but short-lived showers. As formula 18 is a box-rule development class there is much room for selection of boats, sails and rigs. Grant Piggott of GP sails delivered a 2 day tuning workshop with a novel approach. Each boat was rigged, examined and tuned on its side in the dinghy park. The Coach emphasised some of the training and preparation that needs to be done by each team in the short down period before the F18 class resumes training in February.
