The first sailing events at Qingdao were held to-day, August 9th, and Tim Goodbody having had a poor start pulled up to 22nd at the finish of Race One.

In Race Two Goodbody finished 13th. At one stage he was lying ninth but
slipped to 13th at the finish leaving his current overall position
20th. The race was sailed in six knots of wind and misty conditions.
