Peter O’Leary won the first of to-day’s (Fri) races in style at the Laser SB3 World Championship and finished eighth overall in the Gold Fleet.

Dublin Bay was a mill pond this morning with a light southerly wind of two knots exactly as had been forecast.  However, as conditions improved and the breeze filled the organisers were able to run the full complement of three races for the day.  O’Leary’s results brought him to eighth overall in the Gold fleet.  Other Cork results from the Gold fleet were Aidan O’Connell 26th, Stefan Hyde 37th, Ronan Collins 41st and Kieran Dorgan 56th.

ACCBank Cork Week Boat of the Week Skipper David Hudson in City of Cape Town finished second overall with the winner and Laser SB3 World Champion being Jeff Carveth sailing Team Earl’s Court.
