Dinghy fleets head for Irish Sailing Youth Nationals

With all the hard work over the Winter and Spring now complete, our dinghy fleets head for Ballyholme Yacht Club to compete in the Irish Sailing Youth Nationals. The Irish Sailing Youth Nationals is Ireland’s largest youth regatta.

The flagship youth event incorporating IODAI trials will be held at the Ballyholme Yacht Club this week for the first time since 2019. Our Royal Cork sailors are ably represented across all the classes competing with a total of 36 members making the trip north to compete.

The optimist, ILCA6, 29er and 420 classes are competing for 4 days starting on Thursday 21st April, and the ILCA4 and Topper classes starting on Friday. We are assured a fantastic few days of dinghy racing at its best with nearly 200 sailors from across the country taking part.

We wish all our Royal Cork sailors the very best for this event and for the busy racing calendar planned for the season.

For further info, including results as they happen later in the week, see Irish Sailing Youth Nationals 2022
