Today was day one of the three day event at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club in Cowes. Interest in this class continues to grow and there were six Irish entries from the thirty boat fleet. Following three races today the best of the Irish was Diarmuid Foley’s Anchor Challenge lying fifth on 17 pts with George Kenefick in Tiger, the defending Quarter Ton Corinthian Champion in sixth place on 21 points. The recently acquired Per Elisa of Eamon Rohan and Ian Travers on her first outing is in ninth position on 30 pts. The recently refurbished Illes Pitiuses of Jason and Dom Losty from Cobh is lying in tenth place on thirty one pts. Other Irish results are the Dublin based Supernova of Ken Lawless and Sybil McCormack lying twenty third and Paul Colton of Dublin had a dnf and are lying in twenty ninth place.
The series consists of nine races and hopefully three races will be sailed each day for the next two days.
