
Sixth year pupils from the three national schools in Crosshaven took part in a sail training and water safety day at the Royal Cork.

The thirty four students, accompanied by the Principals of each school, spent the morning dinghy sailing and were treated to safety talks and demonstrations from Billy Bermingham and Vincent Farr of the Crosshaven Coastguard and Gary Heslin of the Crosshaven RNLI in the afternoon.
Patti O’Flynn had ten RCYC sailing instructors on hand to ensure everybody got a good grounding on the basics of dinghy sailing while Dave Hennessy, assisted by pupils of Crosshaven secondary school, organised a short race for the kids.
RCYC Admiral Mike MacCarthy welcomed the students to the club and presented each of them with a certificate.
