The Royal Cork Yacht Club will be running the Cork Match Racing Open on the 14th and 15th of August. This event forms the final leg of the Irish Match Racing Tour before the National Championship to be held in Kinsale at the end of October.
Registration opens via the http://www.matchracing.ie web site on the 1st of July on a first come first served basis. So not having attended a previous leg of the Tour is not a blocker to getting an invite. The NOR will also be posted on the 1st and the entry fee has been set at 350 euro to give as many people the chance to take part as possible.
Royal Cork members have been very active as part of teams at the legs in Lough Derg, Howth and Dun Laoghaire and both the club and Match Racing Ireland are particularly keen to encourage teams that fully represent the club and county at our home event. The event will also be the first leg to move up to Grade 3 international status.
With the All Irelands to be hosted by the club again this year this is an excellent opportunity to race the J80s competitively against teams that sail them on a regular basis.
