The National 18ft class is the largest one design multi crewed dinghy sailing in Cork Harbour. The fleet races actively from April to end Sept. The class has regular league racing Wed and Sat from the RCYC and competes for a very impressive array of class trophies throughout the season. Three championship events are held each year, the South Coast Championships, the Irish Nationals and the British and Irish Championships, affectionately known as the “Cock ‘O the North.
