This year we are delighted to announce that the annual Coolmore to Club Junior Dinghy Race 2023 will take place on Saturday  evening  3rd June  2023.

When: Saturday Evening 3rd June 2023

First Gun: TBC – High Tide 1745hrs and first gun will be timed accordingly.  Our Admiral Kieran O’Connell & Rear Admiral of Dinghies Maurice Collins will start this years Race in an innovative way. You need to be at the briefing to find out how!!! 

OD: Our Vice Admiral Annmaire Fagan & past Admiral Barry Rose will be our ODs for the day. 

Type of Vessel: If it floats, get it out!!! We want all dinghies,  kayaks & Stand up paddle boards. 

Race  Briefing: 15.45hr outside Dinghy Centre 

What Do I need to Do: Register Below by completing the form. 

Prizes: Junior Crews will be eligible for the coveted Coolmore Cup . We will also have fun prizes with prizes for the winner of each fleet.

This years race is being organised by Jim Hughes. Jims ethos for the race is that he wants as many boats on the water as possible. If it floats, get it out! This is a fun race run by the club for its junior and youth sailors but we would love to see families and friends together on the water. We want to see Mums & Dads (as crews), and we want to encourage the youths to take the helm. It is not all about who comes first, there will be a mix of prizes, from the best turned out boat, the best dressed crew, to the youngest helm to mention a few. 

We are seeking to grow the paddle Board/Kayak participation. More to follow, but for those with paddle boards and Kayaks, rest assured an orientation race is being prepared!!. 

This year, the event is kindly sponsored by a local company ‘House of Coolmore’ who specialise in handcrafted bespoke kitchens and furniture. We thank House of Coolmore for supporting this race, and we would ask our members to see all their wonderful offerings at www.houseofcoolemore.com
