Racing was held at the far side of the lake to day from the Acquafresca Clubhouse in a light 6 to 8knt breeze close to the cliffs.
Conventional wisdom says that you go as close to the cliffs as possible to pick up a stronger breeze and a lift, but a 12th place in the first race today showed the Cork boys that the wind does not always do what it is supposed to do! They recovered well to record 1st and 2nd places in the following races to leave them in 2nd position overall in the Gold fleet with 19 points. They are now 10 points behind the GBR pair of Bowerman and Darling with a possible three more races to go on the final day with one more discard to count after seven races. Kent and Childs of GBR are 2 points behind Lyden and Stokes. Viki and Jane Cudmore are lying 32nd in the Gold fleet finding the light conditions not to their liking.
In the Silver fleet Brendan Lyden and Marc Cudmore recorded a 7, 8, and 1st in racing today . They are 13 points behind the Swedish pair in 1st place, with an Italian boat 4 points behind in 3rd place.
