Cavatina and Endgame perform strongly in Round Ireland Race

After a long race the Round Ireland Marathon is over for another two years. Royal Cork Yacht Club have always supported this event and 2014 was no exception with Frank Doyle’s Endgame and Ian Hickey’s Cavatina competing. Cavatina led for a lot of the race but in the end wind and tide got the better of her and she had to be content with 5th IRC overall but won Classes 4,,5 and 6. Frank Doyle’s Endgame competing for the first time in this grueling race finished 4th overall in IRC and was 2nd in IRC 3. Well done to both Skippers and crews.

The overall winner was the Scottish entry Tanit, a Sydney 36,  who just pipped Liam Shanahan’s J109, Ruth, by seven minutes. Line honours was taken by Farmer Ryan in Monster a Volvo 70.
