The Junior Sailing Courses continue at the Royal Cork Yacht Club and what has to be hailed as an outstanding success is the ISA Irish Sailing Association) new Cara Na Mara Otters course for the seven to ten year olds.
In particular this group of youngsters just being introduced to boating are having the time of their lives and their enthusiasm knows no bounds. A breathless comment from one smallie sums it all up “this was the best day I’ve ever had”.
The course is promoting basic sailing skills, seamanship skills and environmental awareness and the children are lapping it all up and having a ball at the same time.
Congratulations are due to all participants, instructors, Sailing Co-ordinator, Miriam McMahon and last but not least the supportive parents for giving the youngsters such a happy and constructive occupation during their summer holidays.
Lets hope the promised fine weather will continue for the duration of all the Junior Sailing Courses.
