The optimist beginner sailing sessions will start on Saturday 20th April at 11am in the Dinghy Centre. As usual the format will be a “no pressure” introduction for new sailors to optimist sailing and some confidence building for those wishing to improve. Help will be provided for parents and sailors new to the scene. I would request that all interested parties email me in advance to provide some indication of numbers. Volunteer helpers are also required, both adult and older junior sailors. Volunteers are key to the success of the beginner sessions. Of particular help are optimist sailors who are willing to take the beginners out in their boats. The beginners sailing will be finished before regular April Saturday league racing that follows later in the afternoon.
