Last weekend’s ‘At Home’ sailing regatta was a lively event, filled with sunshine, laughter and friendly competition both on and off the water.  Sailors of all experience levels came together, from seasoned racers to the eager newcomers of which there were 12 in our Optimist Tin Fleet.

Jimmy Nyhan our PRO for the Mixed Dinghy fleet and Steven O’Sullivan our PRO for the Optimist Fleet ran 6 races for both fleets on two different courses over two days under the watchful eye of Dom Daly our Safety lead for the weekend. Thank you to you all.

Our National 18 fleet were low on numbers as a lot of the fleet had travelled to Findhorn in Scotland for the ‘Cock of the North’. David Kenefick was the overall winner on the day, with Ronan Kenneally in second place and Anthony Coole in third.

It was the complete opposite number wise in the Optimist class as they had 40 sailors on the water in the main fleet split into Gold, Silver, Bronze and Copper. There were 12 sailors in the Tin fleet, it was a first ‘At Home’ on the water for many of them and their faces lit up when they recieved their medals at the prizegiving. The results for the oppies were as follows -:

There were over 30 sailors in the mixed dinghy fleet. We had Toppers, ILCA 4, ILCA 6, Aero, 29er, 420’s and Feva’s. Results are listed below.
