Another Fine Turnout of 32 Optimist in April / May League

Optimist sailors continue to turn out in numbers for the first league of the season. The Harrington siblings continue to dominate the overall results but Peter McCann, Killian O’Keeffe and Jamie Tingle took bullets today.

The overall results are shaping up to be a family affair between Richie Harrington (16 points) and his sister Amy (18) who are dominating the series with consistently excellent results. They have taken a substantial lead over Conor Lyden on 39 points.

Peter McCann had a fine day with a first and a fourth in the first two races. Killian had a 3rd and a first.

The final race of the day was reminiscent of a former era when race officer Ronan Lyden set the course to finish a the marina. Jamie Tingle took his maiden victory in the main fleet.
