Annual Navy Race

The Royal Cork’s annual Navy Race is to take place this coming Saturday September 8th with the kind permission of the Naval Service. The Notice of Race is online. First gun is at 1355 with a committee boat start. The finish will be between the VS Tower on Haulbowline and Number 15 navigation mark.

Competitors are invited to tie up in the basin in Haulbowline after which they will be escorted to the Wardroom. A barbeque will be available on a first come first served basis between 1730 and 1830. Tickets will be available in the Wardroom from about 1715 onwards, priced at €13, or 2 for €25.

The prizegiving will take place as soon as possible after racing. The results will be processed in the Club and phoned back to the base.

All are welcome. Some yachts from the NS Yacht Squadron will be taking part, and hopefully boats from Cove SC and Monkstown Bay SC will also join the race. The Naval Service are having a friends and family open day on the base that day, so there should be a large crowd and a great atmosphere.
