The Irish Sports Council are working on a project called The Journey in which they profile different elite athletes and the unseen preparation they do for the other 364 days a year before they hit the spotlight. Annalise was selected to be subject of the first video and the ISC went out filming with her earlier this year in the snow and 40 knots of wind and this is the result which makes for very pleasant and thrilling viewing.
We will all be watching Annalise with interest as she will compete in Hyeres April 22nd to 27th. On the starting line will be some familiar faces. London 2012 gold medalist Lijia Xu (China) will be returning to the fleet for the first time since her Medal Race victory and also stepping back into a Radial for the first time since earning her silver medal at the 2012 Games is Marit Bouwmeester (Netherlands). The UK’s Alison Young, who finished fifth in London, will also be fighting for a top place finish following her win at the World Cup in Spain earlier this month. Murphy will be joining the top names in the Laser Radial as they commence their road to Rio and it will be a very interesting series to watch.
