ISA All Ireland Sailing Championship 2008 sponsored by Euro Car Parks October 3rd, 4th and 5th at Howth Yacht Club.
Format of Competition
There are some changes to the format of the competitions this year. The senior event will take place over a three day period with the first flight of eight invited competitors sailing in ISA SailFleet J80s on Friday afternoon. The Junior and Girls competition starts on Saturday morning.
Twenty races are planned to take place throughout the weekend. Racing will be competitive from the start with scores counting from race one. According to Ed Alcock, ISA Racing Manager, "this will ensure that the competition will be simple and fair for all competitors." Race Officers for the event will be David Lovegrove for the the senior fleet and Derek Bothwell for the junior and girls fleet.
Even though the format of the competition has been changed somewhat, the winner of the event will be Ireland’s premier sailor and will be awarded the ISA All Ireland Helmsman’s Trophy.
Invitations for the Euro Car Parks sponsored event will be issued later this week.
