AIB Autumn Series NOR & Entry Now Live

The leaves have begun to fall and that only means one thing, the Autumn Series is approaching. Racing will take place across 5 Sunday’s, commencing on Sunday September 27th and concluding on Sunday October 25th with First Gun at 11:25 each week. AIB’s strong support of Cork300 will continue through to the Autumn Series and we are hugely grateful to them for sticking with the club, particularly over the last six months.

This year is set to be one of the most hard fought series’ in recent memory with an all out battle ahead in the spinnaker fleets with the likes of Nieulargo, Miss Whiplash, Don’t Dilly Dally and Cracker all showing good form through the season while seasoned campaigners like Jump Juice and Coracle will no doubt bring together an impressive crew line up.

If the Blackrock Race is anything to go by, the Non Spinnaker fleet will be right up there in numbers and racing will be tight at the top with Prince Of Tides, Magnet and Aramis amongst those expected to be showing good form.

And with the 1720 Nationals taking place in Cork Harbour on the weekend of the 25th – 27th September, the results from the Sunday of racing will carry forward into the remainder of the Autumn Series. A full fleet in Cork for the opening weekend means it’s likely numbers could remain in double digits for the rest of the series.

As always, this is an ‘Open’ event with boats and fleets from other clubs, particularly on the South Coast, encouraged to come and enjoy the excellent racing on offer.

Full notice of race, entry etc are all available here.

Here’s hoping we get a repeat of last year’s great conditions, photo’s courtesy of Bob Bateman.
