Adventure Course on Spike Island

Last weekend seven Royal Cork instructors completed their ISA Adventure 1 course with an overnight stay on Spike Island, Cork Harbour.

They were welcomed by Mr Tom O’Neill, Superintendant of Spike Island and treated to a presentation on the history of the Island from 1800 to 2011, a tour of the Island outside the fort walls and an historical tour inside. With stories abounding of a recent visit to Spike by the well known Ghost Hunters International, it made for an interesting overnight stay.

Many thanks to Cork County Council for facilitating the course and to Tom O’Neill for his generous welcome.
