Held over Saturday and Sunday in warm but light conditions the result was always going to be tight and great racing was had by all competitors under the watchful eye of Race Officer David O’ Brien.

In the end the comeback kids – Richard Harrington and Robbie English finished on level points with the McCarthy pairing but the sisters took the title on countback having had two race wins to their credit.

In fact there were four different race winners out of the five race event with race one going to Richie and Robbie, race two and four going to the McCarthys, race three to Patrick and Chloe Crosbie and the final (and only race on day 2) going to the Spanish pairing Carmen and Julia Devila.

The silver fleet was also tightly contested with Galway sailors Jack Lee and Aaron O’Reilly emerging on top in the end with second in silver going to the local pairing of Julie Tingle and Ciara Power.

Many thanks to all who travelled and helped make the event
