The RCYC and the 420 Class Association of Ireland have agreed that the “470 sailors of Ireland” run the 470 National Championship alongside the 420 Nationals on the 11th and 12th of September. This will be the ideal opportunity for 420 sailors to see “what comes next” after great years in the 420 class.
The NOR and the SIs are similar to the 420 NOR and SIs with these amendements:
470 national championship : NOR amendements
– replace 3.1: Entry is open to all Olympic 470 class dinghies, sailed by helm and crew who are member of their national Authorities and of their national 470 class association with the exception of Irish entries as no class association exist in Ireland.
– remove 3.2
– replace 4.1 : Entries must be made before 11.00 on the morning of the first race accompagnied by a fee of 80EUR
– remove 8.1 and 8.2
– replace 13 : in the event of 3 or more entries in a category, prize will be presented to the winner of that category:
overall champion
1st lady helm and crew
1st master (combined age over 70)
A trophy may be presented to the overall winner (provided it can be found).
470 national championship : SI
the same SIs than the 420 will be used. The 470 class will have a separate start before or after the 420s ( at the discretion of the PRO) and will sail the same course than the 420.
