4 Royal Cork Optimist Sailors Promoted after Leinsters

All of the promotions in the national Optimist fleet system after the recent Leinster Championships were Royal Cork Sailors.

Conor Lyden and Seafra Guilfoyle were promoted to the Gold Fleet and Julie Tingle and Cian Byrne went up to the Silver Fleet.

Conor Lyden finished a fantastic season which saw him on the podium in every event he entered. He was 3^rd Bronze in the Munsters, 1^st in the Connachts, 1^st Silver in the Nationals and 2^nd in the Leinsters.

Seafra Guilfoyle became only the 2^nd 11 year old in the Gold Fleet (the other being Philip Brownlow also of the RCYC) after top six placings in the Ulsters and the Leinsters.

Julie Tingle was promoted after top six placings in the windy Connachts and the light Leinsters showing the range of her capabilities.

Cian Byrne became the 3^rd 10 year old in the Silver Fleet (one of the others is Peter McCann) after finishing 2^nd in the Nationals (in one race, PRO Anthony O’Leary remarked on the excellence of his start over the radio) and 5^th in the Leinsters.
