With a busy summer flying by and school coming up soon there seems little time to organise any non competitive socialising for our Junior members.
However we have decided this coming Wednesday the 24th to take a trip up the harbour to the National Maritime College (kindly arranged by Cormac MacSweeney) to have a tour to see how they train captains and crew of ships. They have kindly booked time on their simulator for us and to show off their world class facilities.
After the NMC, a guided tour of Spike Island by the retired Prison Governor has also been secured(courtesy of Vice Admiral Pat Farnan). The sailors can bring their lunch and hangout there.
The NMC tour starts at 11.30 so we plan to assemble at 10.45 sharp in the club carpark and to take Adrielle and Nemo, return to Club later on in the afternoon for approximately 15:30 hours ( dependant on weather and number of participants).
If the weather is bad we can travel by car to the NMC, however the forecast is currently looking good so hopefully suncream and hats will be the order of the day instead.
We will need to get an idea of approximate numbers of interested Juniors ( 8 years of age or older). A change of clothes and a packed lunch would be useful.
Could you please answer the survey below by 9pm Monday so that we can ensure that we have enough resources in place for the trip.
