The Optimist Beginner sailing sessions will start on Saturday 21st April at 11am in the Dinghy Centre. As usual the format will be a “no pressure” introduction for new sailors to Optimist sailing and some confidence building for improvers back again for a second time. At the start of this first session an introductory briefing will be provided for parents and sailors new to the scene.
I would request that all interested parties email me in advance to provide some indication of numbers.

Film-maker John Boyle and cameraman Fionn Crow Howieson have recently completed a circumnavigation of Britain and Ireland aboard a Sealine S34 motorboat.
Dubbed “The Great Motorboat Tour”, their exploits have been documented in Motor Boats Monthly magazine over the past few issues.

Kinsale and Crosshaven RNLI have announced renowned International maritime journalist Bob Fisher as guest speaker at the annual RNLI “Sailing by the Lee” lunch on Friday, 27th January, 2012 at the Maryborough Hotel, Douglas, Cork. This follows on from the success of the 2011 event where the guest speaker was Marine Photographer Rick Tomlinson.
